Early 400 with 3 downdraught SU carbs. Owned by Payne of Durban, South Africa. Later owned by Glasby then Clough in Rhodesia. Owned in the 1990s by historic racing driver Brian Evans in South Africa. Now in England.

Year 1948
Owned by Colonel Stuart in the UK. Later owned in Rhodesia by Glasby, raced by JM Southern in the Mashonaland 100 in 1957, later owned by Deryk Lamb, then Tendayi and around 1969 by Colin Morris. Later in South Africa, where I am told the vehicle is rusting in a field.

Owned by Eric Glasby, Peter Jarvis, Eric Glasby, Finneron, Paulett, Erasmus, Van Zyl, Wassennar. Later with K' Rowland in the UK. Used by Mr. Glasby in 1955 in the 2nd Ndola Car Rally, Northern Rhodesia in that year, winner of class B. Currently in Wales

Year 1952
LHD. One of the last 401s, shipped on 14.11.1952 to Portugal. Sold to first owner Snhr. Jero Moniz de Maia of Lisbon on 01.12.1952. Later went to Mozambique then to Glasby in Southern Rhodesia. Later owners include, Coventry, Ifeipher, one of whom may be the person who owned the car in Transkei. The car then went to Cape Town in 1969 where it was owned by G.C. Kinnes in 1978. Later owned by Tyler, noted in the UK in 1990.

ex Rhodesia - Owned in South Africa by Karl Lucouw, total basket case when acquired having been out in the bush for many years. Among the missing parts were the alloy rocker covers - Karl heard of a Cooper Bristol that had crashed in Lorenco Marques and traced the remains, including the rocker covers.
