Owned by
Arthur Rutherford-Jones in 1980. Acquired by Arthur
Rutherford-Jones' s father when new. Sold by his
mother in 1940. When Arthur returned to Rhodesia in
1967 he contacted the buyers of the car to enquire
as to whether it still existed. This it did, however
it had been dismantled in 1949. In 1970 Arthur took
a trip to Gutu to acquire what remained of the car,
which conistsed of the engine, generator, gearbox,
radiator and scuttle. A 1929 chassis was acquired
outside Bulawayo, together with mudguards running
baords and some other parts. Arthur was determined
that a sedan body be acquired as that was the type
of body originally fitted. Some body parts were
acquired in Rangemore and elsewhere, mostly without
the timber frame, and the restoration began.
The car waas ready by January 1973 when it was used
for the wedding of Arthur's eldest daughter. Later
taken to South Africa. Acquired by Tobie Du Plessis,
a relative of the Rutherford-Jones' in 2011.

missionary in 1931. American not South African
assembled. Owned by Mick Angell of Umtali since
around 1962, having been purchased for £10 in poor
condition, and restored over 5 years. Possibly sold
to someone in South Africa. It is possible the
engine is a replacement as an engine number with an
R prefix shows it was built in South Africa.
