Year 1930
Found by Mike Smith under a tree at the back of Helensvale Service Station in 1959, acquired by his father George for Mike. Fitted at that stage with a closed cab pickup body which was in poor condition. Later replaced with a Model B closed cab body as per photo on left below. Used on the 6th and 7th Shell Reliability Runs in 1963 and 1964 as well as various other classic car runs. Also used in a solo trip around Rhodesia in the early 1970s. In three weeks of travelling the car gave no hassles at all. Appeared in an article in the Herald on 19/02/1984. Owned by Mike into the 1990s. Sold to Dave Riley around 2003 together with a pile of spares including about six engines and three Ford Tractors. Purchased from Dave in 2006 by Viv Westbury. After acquiring the truck Viv realised the cab was from a 1932 model and therefore incorrect for the chassis. The cab was removed and sold to someone in Botswana. Viv has fitted a roadster body, no. 6F6255 which had been owned by Bob Southon who had started restoring it before selling it to Robin Hurst, from whom Viv acquired it.
