New to David
Prophet in August 1965. Fitted with a Ford V8 engine
with ZF box, this car attained the SA Speed Record
of 177.97 mph on 21 Oct 1967, driven by Bob Olthoff,
as well as the National title for standing start 1/4
mile of 11.25 seconds. Olthoff had acquired the car
in 1966 and in it won the 1966 and 1967 South
African Sport Car Championship as well as sharing
the Rhodesian sports car title in 1967. Acquired
from Bob by Tony Figereudo of Rhodesia, owned
c1973-77. Still in in Zimbabwe in the 1980s in poor
condition, acquired in England by Max Warwich of New
Zealand. Currently fitted with a 289 Ford V8 with
Li500 Hewland box.
