Fire Brigade when the B.S.A. Police manned
the brigade, was sold to Gwelo
Municipality in 1941, totally overhauled
and fitted with pneumatic tyres in 1950.
The B.S.A. Police in Gwelo were also the
Fire Brigade until 30 January 1959 when
they handed over to the Municipal Brigade
and the Merryweather was retired later
that year. Owned
by the Vintage Car Club of Zimbabwe (previously of
Rhodesia) since the 1960s. |
