Maudslay - The picture shows the arrival of Sir
William Henry Milton, then Administrator of Southern
Rhodesia, at the Gwelo Public School (later renamed
Chaplin School), in 1911, to perform the opening of
the new school hostel.

Fitted with twin forward roof lights behind which
could be flown a flag, the front bumpers also had an
attachment for reflecting lights. Delivered to H.E.
The Governor General of Southern Rhodesia, Sir
Peveril Barton Reiby Wallop William-Powlett, in
April 1957. Used by all heads of State in Rhodesia
and still in use in Zimbabwe today. |

Handed over
to H.E. The Governor General of Northern Rhodesia,
Sir Arthur Edward Trevor Benson, in May 1957. Owned
by the Zambian Government till at least 1967 when a
Rolls-Royce Phantom V was delivered. Shipped to the
UK by 1973 when it was seen on the Alpine Rally of
that year. Later that year the car went to an
American owner and is still in America.
