History          
Year 1971
4th version of the car, WDB standing for Whimhurst (designer), Dibley (owner of Palliser), B (suitable for racing in US Formula B, or Atlantic class). WDB1 1968, WDB2 1969, WDB3 1970 and WDB4 1971. Ex Vern Schuppan UK Formula Atlantic Championship winner 1971, Imported into Zambia around 1972 by Dave Handford, acquired by Peter Parnell in Rhodesia around 1973, later acquired by Ron Watt also in Rhodesia. Later fitted with a very hot dry-sump Mazda rotary engine built by Nick Wood, an FT200 gearbox and a T212 body that had been converted  to a central seat. The chassis was original with outriggers to carry the body. 'Reversed' into a wall on its first practice at Donnybrook. Before leaving for Australia, Nick made new rear wishbones and a new oil tank for the car, later fitted with a BDA. Ron also had the original body parts for the car. Raced at Kyalami, South Africa in 1980 by Mike Wesson. Later sold to Andrew Thompson in South Africa, who offered the remains of the car for sale in 2010 for US$12 500. Car needed complete restoration. Missing nose cone, engine, gearbox, correct wheels (currently fitted with Elfin wheels). Acquired by Ian Hebblethwaite in South Africa.
