Make Velocette motorcycle
History
Year 1965
Imported into Rhodesia by Gammon & Martin on 30/09/1965. Bike built up by a Mr.Harris. Sold to Dave Lovemore, who being new to biking did not own it for long and it was sold to Godfrey Rademeyer. The bike then passed through A number of owners before being acquired by Frank Kennerley, who rebuilt the bike. Later owned by Chris Foreshaw then Dave Cuthbert in South Africa, Dave sold the bike in the UK around 2002. Owned in 2010 by Martin Johnson. Raced by a Mike Lawler in Rhodesia, possibly only at one race (does anyone know when and where?). The engine from this bike was also fitted to a Norton Featherbed frame at some stage to compare against the owner's Venom engine in the same frame. The Thruxton was outclassed by the Venom motor.

If anyone has any additional information or photographs of this bike,we would be grateful to hear from you via the webmaster's address at the bottom of this page - Thank you
