Mr. Townsend of Umvukwes who used the car as his
sole transport on his farm till 1947. Acquired by
H.H. Watson in June 1960, later owned by C.O.
Craxford then Ian Grant-McKenzie, Bulawayo.
Possibly taken to South Africa. The VCC 1970
members list shows Ian with a 1929 Willys,
possibly this car with incorrect year?

Originally purchased by Mr. J.
Davies, an undertaker in Umtali, to be used as a
hearse. Sold by him after 5000 miles, to a Mr.
Chalmers of Featherstone. When Mr. Chalmers died
in 1968 his widow sold the vehicle to Tony Roe,
now with 9000 miles. The hearse body had been
removed by the undertakers and replaced with a
flat truck bed, which was rotten by the time Tony
acquired it. Restored with a camper type body,
taken to the UK by Tony in the 1980s, where it was
sold.
